School: Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, 2017

Special Interests: Telemedicine, soft tissue surgery, veterinary outreach and teaching

Pets: Four very silly cats: Dusty (17 years), Scout (4 years), and brothers Rocket and Fats (10 months)

I am an east coast native who grew up in a small town in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley while showing Angus beef cattle on the county fair circuit. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s in Animal and Poultry Sciences before studying veterinary medicine at the same campus (go Hokies!) and focusing in companion animal medicine.  I started my veterinary career with Adobe in our Los Altos location from 2017-2018 and spent a wonderful year falling in love with the beautiful Bay Area and its awesome residents.

In summer 2018 my husband was offered his dream job back in my home state of Virginia, where we now happily reside. For about a year I enjoyed teaching veterinary students at my alma mater and performing soft tissue surgery at my local humane society. However, I found myself missing Adobe and in 2019 was lucky enough to rejoin the team as a remote veterinarian. Together with you, our Adobe clients, we are hoping to expand our telemedicine capabilities in order to bring you the highest quality and most convenient patient care possible.

Meet Sasha Hazelton, newest addition to the doctor team!

School: University of California, Davis

Special Interests: General medicine, soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and nutrition

Pets:  2 cats, Queen Priscilla Anne III and Potato. One lounges royally on my lap, the other sprawls on the ground licking the carpet. Can you guess who is who?

Born and raised in California I grew up in Napa and spent my undergraduate years in La Jolla at UC San Diego. Between classes and surfing I worked for local vaccination clinics and volunteered at wildlife rehabilitation centers in Peru and Thailand before attending veterinary school at UC Davis. During my veterinary journey I fell in love with nearly every specialty and species I worked with. I hated the idea of choosing only one focus and realized that general practice was my calling .

I am incredibly fortunate to be a part of the team at Adobe Animal Hospital. As someone who enjoys all aspects of  medicine it is a blessing to work at a practice that encourages its staff to pursue their interests and collaborate with one another to achieve the best quality of care.

When I am not at work I enjoy exploring nearby hiking trails with my partner Max, rock climbing, reading, cooking, attempting to garden, and singing to my cats when I think no one else is around.

I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets!

School: UC Davis

Special Interests: nutrition, small mammal and exotic medicine, and low-stress handling

Pets: A Shepherd mix (Ansel), two cats (Foxtrot and Brilliant), four parakeets (Lima, Sapphire, Argent, and Pan), and a husband (Kit).

I grew up in NorCal, and was often at my grandparents’ horse ranch in the Napa foothills. I attended UC Davis for my BS in Animal Science, and along the way picked up minors in English and Psychology. After graduating, I worked as a tech assistant and inventory manager at a small animal hospital while taking night classes towards a Master’s in Biotechnology – once I’d started working in the veterinary field I couldn’t resist the lure, and decided to apply to vet school. After graduating I completed a rotating small animal internship at Pet Specialists of Monterey, where I then stayed as an emergency clinician. I am looking forward to building those long-term relationships with patients and clients (and of course the Adobe team!) as I move into practice at Adobe. I am excited to be part of a team with such diverse strengths and interests! My professional interests include nutrition, small mammal and exotic medicine, and low-stress handling – though I am interested in all aspects of veterinary medicine! In my free time, I’ll do pretty much anything that takes me outdoors but I particularly enjoy hiking, kayaking, and gardening.

I am originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. I lived there until I moved to Davis, California to complete my undergraduate and veterinary degrees. After my graduation in 1996, I moved to Santa Cruz where I practiced for two years at a small animal hospital. I joined Adobe Animal Hospital in May 1998.

In the past, to gain a lot of hands on experience, I have had many exotic pets from ball pythons, bearded dragons, sulcata tortoises, rainbow boa, day geckos, cockatiels, savannah monitors, king snakes, to even a hedgehog.

My husband and I currently live in San Jose with our three pups. My interests outside of the hospital include cooking, gardening, reading and playing volleyball. I do like to stay active and enjoy being outdoors.

Special Interests: general medicine; abdominal ultrasound; feline medicine

Pets: Buttercup (Chihuahua), Kodiak (Austrailian Shepherd mix), 5 cats (Maya, Westley, Colby Jack, Diamond, & Tiffany), 2 guinea pigs, and a freshwater aquarium.

I was born and raised in Ventura, California. I have wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. When I graduated high school, I moved on to UC Davis for my undergraduate work in hopes of accomplishing my dream of becoming a veterinarian. I obtained by B.S. in Animal Science at Davis in 1994 and went on to attend veterinary school there. After graduation in 2000, I married my long-time college sweetheart and moved to San Francisco where he was attending graduate school.

Prior to coming to Adobe, I worked at the San Francisco SPCA Animal Hospital for 3 1/2 years. I learned a lot at the SPCA, made many good friends there, as well as acquired two little dogs, who came to us with broken legs and ended up becoming permanent members of our family. I joined the Adobe staff in April 2004. I really enjoy working at Adobe with both the challenges and rewards of working in such a busy hospital. I enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but i am particularly interested in ultrasonography and feline medicine.

When I am not at Adobe, I can generally be found spending time with my family which consists of my husband, our young son, and our menagerie of pets. In our spare time we enjoy going to sporting events, hiking, camping, and being with friends and family. I have also enjoyed participating in the canine sport of Agility, both with my old dogs who have passed away (RIP Cricket & Meka) and with our Aussie mix, Kodiak.

School: University of Edinburgh, Scotland

Pets: Moluccan cockatoos, chickens and German Shepherd dogs

As a native of the coast side, I am glad to be back in Northern California! My journey has taken me from UC Berkeley, where I earned a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology to vet school in Scotland. After veterinary school, I moved to Southern California to complete a rigorous small animal medicine, surgery and emergency internship at VCA West Los Angeles.

Throughout high school, college, and beyond, I was a competitive three day event rider and earned an A-level Pony Club rating. I hung up my spurs (temporarily) to move to Edinburgh, Scotland and travel.  Being abroad gave me the invaluable opportunity to visit Africa, Australia and Western Europe, but now I am happy to be home with the awesome team that is Adobe Animal Hospital!
