Dr Monica Clare Adobe Animal Hospital

School: University of Pennsylvania, 2000

Special Interests: Board Certified in Emergency and Critical Care

Pets: My cute rescue dogs Koji and Coda

I grew up in South America with my diplomatic parents and then went to college and veterinary school in Pennsylvania.  I was fortunate enough to spend two years in Japan teaching English before vet school and am always excited for a chance to practice my remedial Japanese.

After vet school, I completed a one year internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York before moving to California for a residency in emergency and critical care. I became board certified in 2005 and worked in Los Angeles and San Diego where I trained interns and residents.  I am also actively involved in the Emergency and Critical Care College and was most recently on the exam committee.  My primary interest is respiratory disease and mechanical ventilation, but I am interest in all aspects of emergency and critical care.

I love working at Adobe because of the amazing teamwork and absolute commitment to the patients and their owners.  When not at work, I can usually be found at the beach either scuba diving, swimming, or kayaking.
