Veterinarian Always on Duty

ICU Technician Supervisor

You will help create a work place where technicians are compassionate, experienced, professional, knowledgeable, and working hard to achieve the highest quality of medical care for patients and support for their family members.  Along with the 3 other ICU supervisors you will promote and recognize employees that offer superior customer service/patient care, take initiative and support their team members. We are looking for a full-time, weekend, grave supervisor with at least 5 years experience as a technician.
In addition to the skills, ability, and knowledge outlined in the ICU technician position above, the supervisors of this department must posses strong project management, problem solving and communication skills.

Description of Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and support to the ICU staff. 
• Maintain and uphold hospital policies and protocols. 
• Immediately address situations
• Assist in the preparation of the ICU staff work schedule and ensuring appropriate staffing is available. 
• Make recommendations to the practice managers concerning personnel matters. 
• Discuss disciplinary actions needed with practice managers and assist with follow through.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing and hiring new technicians. 
• Direct on the job training.  Assist with cross training technicians within the hospital to help them gain the skills and knowledge necessary to meet their professional goals. 
• With the practice managers, monitor job performance and conduct team 30/60/90-day and annual performance reviews.
• Recognize staff members that have great initiative, patient care, customer service, and team work.  
• Assist with patient care and treatment

Education/Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift or move 40lbs by yourself
• High level of comfort around animals, clients, and medical procedures
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or feel using hands and arms on a regular and consistent basis
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years or older
• Fluent in English (written and oral)
• Ability to professionally handle transactions and access to medications
• Background check is required
